CAIR-Missouri Condemns Distribution of Racist Meme in Missouri Middle School
(ST. LOUIS, MO, 2/5/20)- The Missouri chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Missouri), a chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution of a racist meme to two African-American students at a middle school in that state.
The two eighth graders at Hixson Middle School were reportedly sent a meme with a photograph of a white man spraying a young black child with a hose with the phrase: "Go be a n***er somewhere else." The parents of one of the students are demanding changes to the district's policies dealing with acts of racism.
